When you’ll be satisfied of the nature and the quiet which the farm house offers, we suggest you a visit to Orvieto (30km faraway) and his gorgeous cathedral or to the Etruscan town of Sovana(above picture) Sorano and Pitigliano; otherwise we can recommend you a relaxing day on the shore of Bolsena’s lake (central picture) a pretty country town with his medieval village; from here you can start an itinerary driving along the shore of the lake where you can visit other village such as Montefiascone famous for its wine Est Est Est, Capodimonte and Marta placed right in front of the two Bolsena’s islands: Martana and Bisentina which can be visited through excursion by boat. On the contrary if you prefer body care and well-being, 20 km away, there’s the new Spa of San Casciano dei Bagni and the farer Bagnovignoni ( 50 km away) and Saturnia ( 80 km away) in the direction of Siena (50 km away) you can reach Montalcino and its sourroundings where you can visit the gorgeous S. Antimo’s Abbey and you can refresh yourself in the quiet of Monte Amiata’s beech woods during the hot summer days or you can enjoy the ski rom during the winter.

Definitely you can not leave without visiting Acquapendente, city of  Pugnaloni.

The Pugnaloni wonderful mosaics made of flowers petals and leaves (in the picture below) are the most characteristic and folkloristic element of Madonna del Fiore’s day celebrated in Acquapendente the 3rd sunday of may.

The origin of this tradition goes back to one of the most important event of the history of Acquapendente: in 1166 the Liberation from the tyrant Federico Barbarossa’s domination.

According to the tradition, the victorious rebellion orginated from an extraordinary episode which two farmers announced to the people of Acquapendentesuch as the miraculous blossoming of a cherry tree withered since years.

This event was the signal of the protection from the Virgin Mary. People rebelled against the ruler, expelled him and destroyed the castle. Remembering the long desired liberation people decided to organise a big feast every year at half may

Nowdays 8 centuries leiter his origin, this half may feast in Madonna del fiore’s honours still celebrated and the subject of the victorious liberation is represented in the Pugnaloni; the Pugnaloni are exhibited during  year in Santo Sepolcro’s Basilice.

Other important events are “Journay through the farmer and craft made culture” at the end of agoust is a recalling the post tradition and at the end of September “the Scarpinata of monte Rufeno” a track event inside the natural reserve.
